About Lunar Studio
Lunar Studio is a full-service mastering studio in Enschede, The Netherlands, working with artists and record labels from around the world across a wide range of genres.
The studio was founded and is run by mastering engineer Kaymon Teunissen. His credits include award-winning albums, and he has earned a reputation for quality, consistency and attention to detail. With years of experience as a producer and touring artist himself, Kaymon knows how the industry works and what artists and record labels need from a master.
The room is built around high-quality acoustic treatment and Dutch & Dutch 8C monitors, tuned with their built-in room correction and Room EQ Wizard for the most accurate monitoring possible.
We're passionate about music, mastering and the people we work with. We support the music community both locally and abroad, working with independent artists, labels and underground scenes. Good communication is part of every project, and we take pride in staying actively involved throughout the process.

Mastering FAQ
What is online mastering?
Online mastering is the same process as mastering in a studio, done remotely. You upload your mix, and a mastering engineer works on it in our studio in The Netherlands. Every master is made by a real person, not by AI or an automated service, and we work with artists and labels in all genres.
How much does mastering cost?
Stereo mastering starts at €60 for one track and stem mastering at €85 for one track, with a lower price per track for larger projects. Vinyl and tape cassette mastering are €10 extra per song, and a CD DDP image is €40 per album. A Mix Evaluation is included with mastering. All prices exclude VAT. How long does mastering take?
Our current turnaround is 1–3 days for singles and 7–10 days for albums.
Do you work with artists outside The Netherlands?
Yes, we work with artists and record labels worldwide. Everything happens online: you upload your music on this website, listen to your masters through a secure link and download your files when you're happy.
What is the difference between stereo and stem mastering?
Stereo mastering uses one render of your full mix and works best when the mix doesn't need any changes. Stem mastering uses a few separate group channels, such as drums, bass and vocals, which gives more control over the balance.
What file format should I send for mastering?
Send WAV 32-bit float, or 24-bit if your DAW can't export 32-bit float. Keep the sample rate as it is, and remove any limiter on your mix bus that's only there to add volume. Please don't send MP3 files, 16-bit files or DAW projects. You can upload WAV and ZIP files, up to 20 GB per project.
When do I pay?
You only pay once you're 100% happy. You first listen to your masters in lossless quality through a secure link, revisions are free until they're exactly right, and you download your files after payment.
Do you master with analog gear?
Yes. The studio has analog mastering equalizers and compressors from Sontec, Audiotails and Gainlab, alongside digital tools such as WaveLab and iZotope. You'll find the full list under The Mastering Studio.
How loud should a master be for Spotify?
It depends on the style of music, but most tracks are mastered between about -8 and -12 LUFS. Spotify normalizes playback to around -14 LUFS, so a louder master is simply turned down. That's why we focus on clarity, punch and dynamics as well as loudness.
What is the difference between mixing and mastering?
Mixing balances the individual elements of a song, such as vocals, drums and bass. Mastering is the final step: it refines the finished mix, sets the loudness and makes sure the song translates well on streaming platforms, headphones, club systems and other playback systems.
Can I come to the studio for a live mastering session?
For albums, yes. Please contact us by email, WhatsApp or Instagram to discuss the options. We don't offer live sessions for singles because of the time involved.
Can I book a recording session?
No, we're a mastering studio, not a recording studio, so we don't offer recording sessions.
Do you offer internships?
Not at the moment. We don't have a place available right now, but this might change in the future.
